½-Day AM class - Wednesday, Oct. 1st
9 am Noon (AM)
Learn to improve your glass cutting speed and accuracy (while minimizing waste) with this state of the art approach to scoring and breaking glass. Unlike stained glass where the lead lines hide minor imperfections, fuser’s cut lines are exposed for all to see. They often need to be clean, crisp and precise. The best way to get this precision is with the right tools and the right techniques. In this class you will learn how easy it can be to cut circles, rectangles, triangles, squares, trapezoids, ovals, long narrow strips and circular boarders even if you are working with difficult glass like ripple or extra thin dichroic. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an experienced pro; you will delight in these quick, easy and highly accurate techniques. You will develop better cutting and breaking skills as you learn why glass breaks the way it does and some common practices to avoid, how to reduce the flairs and burrs from the ends of your long narrow strips and proven ways to cut glass using circle cutters, oval cutters and the Morton Portable Glass Shop. This class has something for everyone, even if you have been cutting glass for years.
